Featuring a blissful reinterpretation of Vangelis’ 1973 hit record 'Let It Happen', the dynamic two-track package will be released on May 15 via Madorasindahouse.
Rising electronic music talents Atsou and Marc Gonen come together for their collaborative debut EP, “Let’s Celebrate”, arriving May 15 on Madorasindahouse. Blending deep Afro sensibilities, with modern, vibey house music, the project captures two distinct moods within a shared sonic universe, moving between introspection and uplifting energy.
Opening the EP and serving as its focus track, “Let It Happen” is a sun-drenched reimagining of an original composition by legendary, Oscar-winning composer Vangelis, known for his standout work on 1492: Conquest of Paradise. The track bridges eras and styles, merging cinematic legacy with a contemporary and playful house flavour. Its release lands at a moment of renewed global attention around Vangelis’ work, including its inclusion in an upcoming Grand Theft Auto soundtrack curated by DJ Harvey, setting the stage for strong organic momentum.
Balancing the EP’s energy on the flip, “Celebrate” explores a more brooding and textural palette. Built around long, drawn-out chord progressions, the track unfolds patiently, layering whimsical piano refrains with staccato string accents that add both tension and elegance. The result is a hypnotic and immersive piece that leans into introspection while maintaining a subtle sense of movement, acting as a perfect counterpoint to the EP’s lead track.
Atsou, a DJ, producer and co-owner of Madorasindahouse Records, continues to play a key role in shaping the global Afro house scene. Based in Athens, his sound blends Afro rhythms with deep and melodic textures, taking him across Europe, the US and as far as Burning Man. With releases on respected labels such as Human By Default, Cacao, Connected and his own Madorasindahouse imprint, he remains committed to pushing boundaries while staying rooted in his musical identity. He is currently working on his debut artist album, a collaborative project reflecting his evolving global influences.
Istanbul-based Marc Gonen has quickly emerged as one of electronic music’s most exciting rising names. His breakout track “Wrong” gained widespread attention after being championed by the Keinemusik crew, leading to further releases including “Dream” on VOD. With a growing catalog across labels like Siamese, Madorasindahouse and Sapiens, and support from artists such as Adriatique, Âme, Dixon, DJ Koze and CamelPhat, Marc continues to build a global presence through both his productions and performances.
