We have had the pleasure of interviewing the producer JOIX and this has been the result.
How did your last project come about? My last job was the curation of remixes for a remix compilation, where I also made a new mix of an older track by me called "Mantra". It was the right time to bring out this special song again and ask some very talented artists to remix it.
What do you want to transmit in this work? What is the concept behind it? The concept of the track "Mantra" was to couple my own lyrics with deep bass and groovy rhythm to generate a mystical feeling, as you feel it after hours of dancing to electronic music. I wanted to capture these feelings with these special words, which are looping like a mantra on top of the beats like a rhythm element of its own.
How do you feel that your musical influences or impacts its listeners? Mostly based on their good reaction on the dance floor, but also when DJs play my tracks in their sets.
What projects are you working on right now? What can you tell us about your last job? An ongoing project is the continuity of my music label "Sounds of Jericho". With already 9 releases now it's on a good way I believe.
