Lovefingers Shares Three New Remixes Of ASHRR Single “Sway”

In Addition To Exclusive ASHRR SOUNDSYSTEM Remix

Ahead of Upcoming Album Sunshine Low

AUGUST 19, 2024— Today, indie electronic trio, ASHRR, delivers four brand new remixes of their most recent single, “Sway.” The EP includes three stellar remixes from Los Angeles legend, Lovefingers, as well as a version from ASHRR’s own alterego, ASHRR SOUNDSYSTEM.. The EP continues ASHRR’s rollout of their upcoming album, Sunshine Low, arriving this Fall on 20/20 Vision Recordings.

Side A of the EP sees Lovefingers’ first iteration of the track, with “Sway (Rimini Remix).” This eclectic take on the original track brings the listener into disco paradise, fully immersed in the world of old-school electronic nostalgia. Closing out side A is “Sway (ASHRR Soundsystem Remix),” a vibrant, percussive party-starter.

“The rework of Sway started with the electro synth bass line which was the whole foundation. We got really spaced out sonically and wanted to get lost in the psychedelic dance groove,” ASHRR remarked on their remix.

Side B’s Lovefingers “Lechuza Dub” and “Skeleton Dub” build off an engaging, funky synth bass line, poised to immediately grab the listener with its saturated goodness. A four-on-the-floor groove on both remixes allows for maximum club potential.

“ASHRR make tunes right up my strasse and were a pleasure to remix,” says Lovefingers. “When the lyrics are great, I just repeat them in my head for days until a whole new arrangement crystalizes. With ‘Sway’ the possibilities were endless, so I turned in 3 versions”, he added.

Andrew Hogge, aka Lovefingers, inhabits a world where House, Techno, Disco, dubbed-out oddities and psychedelic left-turns weave together. Andrew is an in-demand club DJ, multi-instrumentalist, remixer and the creative and eye of the vinyl-lead imprint, ESP Institute. He brings that sense of adventure to the nether regions of dance music, playing for discerning dancefloors in the US such as Nowadays, Good Room, Smartbar, Public Records, and further afield at treasures such as Panorama Bar, Fabric, Lux and Yellow Tokyo.

Due out September 20, ASHRR’s sophomore album Sunshine Low sees the band coming into the sunshine, making music that makes people dance while exploring more of their roots in soul, funk, jazz, and their love of hip-hop, electronic, and experimental music. “It’s about embracing the present, drawing from inner strength, and living freely in the moment,” says the group’s lead vocalist Steven Davis. Recent singles include the improvisationally-based “Deux Sons,” the soulful psychedelia of “Fizzy,” the darker, moodier “What’s Been Turning You On?” and most recently, the upbeat “Different Kind Of Life.”

Formed of lead vocalist Steven Davis and producer-musician-vocalists Josh Charles and Ethan Allen, ASHRR came together from varying backgrounds working in music. Charles started as a jazz pianist, mentored by the late Dr. John, before working in pop, rock, and country as a critically acclaimed singer/songwriter. Charles met Davis in Nashville after both moved from New York City where Davis was headlining huge rooms singing big band standards as well as writing for film and TV. They would soon after move to Los Angeles, where they were introduced to Allen, a Grammy-nominated engineer working with everyone from Ben Harper, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, and Mavis Staples. Setting out to simply create music they liked, they formed ASHRR in 2018, quickly establishing a strong connection in the studio.
