Mexican - American label, "12 Inches Deep," returns with new international Split EP

fantasticplasticse

After a 6 year hiatus, the California based underground house label reenters the vinyl universe with a completely in-house split EP, and renewed dedication to pure, curated underground music.  Featuring premium sounds from Frenchman Ortella, and Yusuke Yamamoto, of Japan, the limited EP arrives as the final house record from the 12 Inches Deep catalog, before the next chapter of the label unlocks for development.

On the A side, a long time explorer of stripped back, dub influenced, classic, house, and techno sounds, Ortella, expertly wields his high level minimal, bordering on microhouse, expertise, showcased with his signature swing, and sensual rhythm.  Known by many through his contributions to essential Euro underground labels such Champion Records, Rutilance Recordings, STRCTR, Kase Kool, Signatune, and his own Mad Recordings Family, he delivers a pair of pulsing, sophisticated, deep-tech bangers, an ode to his classic form, and stark contrast from his recent focus on French Touch, via his newer, but equally formidable "Beaux Arts" project.

Flip to the AA, for foundational work from Yuske Yamamoto, all the way from the land of Kyoto, Japan.  Another veteran, and maestro of the worldwide underground house game, as evidenced by his releases on storied imprints such as PIV Records, HouseWorx, Young Dumb Records, Gemini Wax, and of course, his own Canary, his classically elegant, and eccentric, yet extremely fluid groove, are on full display, via "New Basic," and "Co-Ed;" Two tracks that were signed to the label after a cold email actually broke through, resulting in another piece of luxurious, dance floor ready vinyl for those who like their deep house to be light, and bouncy.

During a time when most labels would prefer to take the easy way out every time, adopting the most commercial sounds available, for the supposed fastest win, 12ID intends to disrupt the toxic culture of sameness, with an offering based on it's own influences, creative inspirations, and inner circle of influence, while setting the table for the sounds ahead.  The record, limited to 100 copies, is now available (while supplies last), and coming soon to all digital platforms, February 28th, 2025.
