Rome’s vinyl DJ/producer Adiel drops melodic soundscape ‘Nightride’ on [PIAS] Électronique

Adiel, vinyl DJ & resident at her native Rome’s Goa Club Ultrabeat nights, drops ‘Nightride’, her second single on [PIAS] Électronique, out now. Previous PIAS single ‘Bolingo Malembe’ won the queen of breaks, tribal and dub-influenced techno support from BBC Radio 6 Breakfast, DJ Mag, Electronic Beats, Reprezent Radio, and a HÖR stream to boot.

“Nightride” is a love letter to Tokyo after dark’ Adiel says. ‘It’s inspired by the energy of the city - that mix of neon, motion, and mystery you feel when driving through its streets at night. I wanted the track to feel cinematic but still club-ready - something that captures the rush of freedom, the beauty of solitude, and that adrenaline of getting lost in the city.

The accompanying video is ‘a visual journey through Tokyo - a tribute to its style, energy, and contrasts. From fast cars to quiet corners, it’s about experiencing the city as it moves. We wanted it to feel immersive like you're right there with us on the ride.’

‘Nightride’ releases during Adiel’s hectic tour schedule: all night long at Village Underground (11th April), going B2B with Quest at Timewarp, and her upcoming shows at Glastonbury, Amnesia Ibiza opening, and Kappa FuturFestival. 

‘Nightride’: breakbeat percussion lurching, stop/starting, hooks interest, gradually becoming more lively, supporting disparate elements which blend into a contemplative, mysterious soundscape – pulsating chords, melodic phrases, distant voices in snatches of conversation, high synth note strings, and muffled, distorted wumps. The breakdown brings a clear, sweet vocal to the fore, singing ‘Close your eyes, take you through the night’. More melodic, emotional, evocative and less strenuously techno than her signature sound, a chance to breathe during a long night’s clubbing or for intent solo listening. 

Adiel has also played her vinyl DJ sets at the likes of Berghain, DC-10 Ibiza, Afterlife, Circoloco, Dekmantel, fabric, Printworks… while releasing innovative solo works such as ‘Musicophilia’ and her collab with Donato Dozzy, ‘Cavallina’, plus running her Danza Tribale label. A multimedia artist, Adiel also expresses herself via fashion and apparel.
