Detroit’s deep-rooted dance music lineage has always thrived on collaboration; now, dancefloor heater ‘Wait For You’ (out on sillygirlcarmen’s Sun & Sound Detroit) brings together Ryan Sadorus and sillygirlcarmen, two artists who represent different but complementary sides of that tradition. 

Ryan Sadorus, Detroit-based DJ, producer, and co-founder of BerettaMusic, combines underground authenticity & global reach, Japanese influences from living in Tokyo, & Detroit’s musical lineage. His DJ’s weapon Hot in the D EP with Delano Smith received global acclaim, his productions win support from the likes of Laurent Garnier and Basement Jaxx. Balancing driving Detroit energy with soulful depth, he performs internationally and in Detroit venues like TV Lounge and SPKRBOX, where he hosts the monthly ‘BerettaMusic & Friends.’

Detroit’s own sillygirlcarmen aka Carmen Johnson, DJ, singer, promoter, actress, & label head has also released on Nervous Records, Popgang Records, Soul Clap Records…. As a new generation Detroit artist who puts emotion before tech, she spreads the city’s dance music spirit via appearances at TV Lounge, Flash DC, Silo NYC, Djoon Paris, Public Works SF, Movement… alongside names like Louie Vega, Moodymann, Will Clarke, Nora En Pure, DJ Minx, Green Velvet, Eats Everything… Her passionate, high energy sound blends soulful house energy with modern club momentum.
