Universal Roots is a rare offering: a time capsule of personal love, cultural struggle, cosmic exploration, and generational continuity. It’s less about genre, more about presence. Each track captures a different sense of time—intimate, historical, astronomical, mythic.

“Lato Mare” by go-Dratta is time at its most immediate. The inclusion of children’s improvisations brings a spontaneity that’s impossible to fake. It reminds us that sound is one of the first ways we interact with the world. The piano adds a nostalgic spine—anchoring the fleeting in something enduring.



“Lachin” by Magna Pia shifts into cultural time. The Uyghur folk roots of the song invoke a history long carried through oral and musical tradition. This version is stark, elegant—its restraint is a statement in itself.

Saba Alizadeh’s “I Roared My Justice” deals with time as memory and protest. The inclusion of a real voice recording makes it painfully urgent. Combined with modular synths and the Kamancheh’s weeping tones, the track becomes an audible monument to lost lives and continuing resistance.

In TON 618’s “Magnetar,” time is deep space. The sounds extracted from the magnetar SGR 0418 are alien but oddly comforting. We’re reminded that the universe is full of frequencies we cannot hear—until artists like TON 618 translate them into feeling.

Finally, CNS’s “Legacy” explores time as lineage. Rich, textural, and regal, it’s a track that imagines greatness not as conquest, but as the result of endurance. Gold becomes a metaphor for what’s carried and passed on.

Together, the five tracks form a sonic archive—of people, cosmos, and legacy.
