New single ‘I Want My Freedom’ out now – get it HERE

As fourth studio album announced for early 2026 on Remember the Future/[PIAS]

2026 Extensive EU/UK tour – TBA

Dutch electronic giants/live artists Tinlicker celebrate a slew of hot news with stirring single ‘I Want My Freedom’, so hold the front page and a few more. The duo are now a trio on stage, with collaborating partner Hero Baldwin now a full band member for 2026. The new single, out now on Remember the Future/[PIAS] heralds the announcement of their fourth studio album, coming early 2026, co-written by the three talents. The band also unveil there will be an extensive EU/UK Tour in early 2026.

Duo into Trio: after several successful collabs and shows with London-based singer/producer Hero Baldwin, most recently April single ‘I Started A Fire’, Tinlicker have now welcomed her into the fold for keeps. This July saw the new trio’s first live show (Melkweg Amsterdam), then in August, Hero joined her ‘Dutch brothers’ on stage for their biggest live show yet, the spectacular Tinlicker In The Park (Crystal Palace Bowl). Tinlicker’s signature emotional melange of melodic synths, soulful vocals, evocative lyrics, heart-felt indie guitar and orchestral elements forms a natural pairing with Hero’s clear, sweet voice with its husky edge, and her song-writing talents.

The three have been writing songs together since 2020; says Hero, ‘Jordi and Micha seem to pull something out of me that resonates with my emotional landscape every time we make a song. I think it’s so important to feel creatively and emotionally secure, and Jordi and Micha always afford me that privilege.’

‘I Want My Freedom’: slow piano chords, then jumpy, upbeat percussion with a breakbeat and an addictive swing flavour behind melodic synth and, throughout, Hero’s strong, resonant voice with its haunting break as she sings lyrics both manifesto of independence and cri de Coeur. Typically Tinlicker - danceable and also listenable, emotional yet crisply produced.

These lyrics circled in my mind for a long time’ Hero says. ‘I started writing from that feeling of disconnection as a woman in my mid-twenties with a sharp awareness of the world moving backwards. But over time, the song grew into something bigger. ‘I Want My Freedom’ isn’t just about me, it’s about all of us. The heartbreaking truth is that the abuse of freedoms reaches far beyond gender. I wanted to create a song of inclusion, with a nod to what I personally feel I’ve lost. Freedom is never handed to us, it’s something we fight for, and I no longer have that softness in me to apologise for that.’

Their forthcoming 2026 studio album (details TBA) follows their acclaimed third LP on [PIAS] Électronique, ‘Cold Enough For Snow’, which marked a prestigious EU & North American Tour. Now they are three, after the triumph of Tinlicker In The Park and a hectic summer of shows, they begin a new EU/UK tour in March. (Dates TBA).

It’s all happening for Tinlicker, and we can all enjoy the ride.
