Clif Jack’s record label MJA the Vision presents a dark and driving techno single by yofellas.
Italian duo, yofellas, have turned their hands to making techno following a successful career producing other genres. After getting nominated for a Grammy Award in 2014, and having a Top 10 hit in the UK’s national chart, yofellas’ new release samples iconic Italian rapper Frankie hi-ngr mc.
Frankie hi-ngr mc is a hip hop artist famed for doing shows with the likes of Run-DMC and Beastie Boys. This release samples the hook from his classic track “Fight Da Faida” and transforms it into a menacing focal point for an intense techno track.
Alongside Clif Jack’s own music, MJA the Vision has previously featured tracks from Luca Morris, AM.I and Vikthor. This new release sees the label take things to the next level with a pile-driving release by one of Italy’s most respected production duos.
“Faida (feat. Frankie hi-ngr mc)” is the solo track on this release, and it opens with dark atmospherics layered over a rumbling bassline and hammering kick drum. The aggressive tones of the vocal sample add to the track’s building intensity, which reaches a crescendo in the spine-tingling breakdown just before the percussion plunges the track back into darkness. Its relentless energy is tailor-made to deliver maximum impact on the dance floor.
